Inviting All Yoga Therapists and Trainees To Our First Yoga Australia 2017 Qld State Event!
“Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.” – Etienne Wenger
This will be a place to learn, collaborate and grow our passion and support for our emerging community of Yoga Therapists!

I enjoy my work as a volunteer for Yoga Australia which is rewarding and consists of, for example, assisting in organising Continuing Professional Development workshops for members and the wider community. With the increase in growth and demand of Yoga Therapy and Therapists in the community world-wide, creates the need for an evolving supportive sangha. Yoga Australia is presenting Communities of Practice to build a place of supportive referral and collegial network for Yoga Therapists.
Our first state event for Queensland will be held this month on the Gold Coast. The topic for discussion will be “Burnout; Rekindling The Flame” presented by Trish David. In the discussion following the presentation some of what we will explore will be, what is burnout and how can yoga therapy intervene to support recovery.
This will be a wonderful place also, to bring to the discussion and share our knowledge, expertise and can include our own understanding or research of similar cases. I will look forward to this Community of Practice workshop and the continuance of future similar events.
Yoga Therapy is an ever evolving and expanding profession in the community with increased understanding and a beneficial addition to anyone’s existing health and wellness program!
