Is your idea of meditating sitting uncomfortably in a darkened room with incense burning trying to empty your mind of all thoughts?
Well, if it is its time to change!
There are so many ways to meditate its a matter of finding what suits you and fits in with your lifestyle. If hanging from a branch from your favorite tree appeals to you, well do it. I personally enjoy different methods as I’m a person that becomes bored with the same old same old. Although don’t get me wrong that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the traditional methods.

How Do You Meditate?
So getting back to you as this blog is to simply get you started or simplify your meditation journey. The traditional sitting on the floor or outside comfortably with eyes closed and away from distractions is optional. The photo in this post is to expand your overall picture of successfully meditating.
What is it that you enjoy doing?
Is it walking, jogging, swimming, sitting in nature and of course I can’t leave out YOGA can I? Find what it is that you enjoy on a regular basis without distraction. Once you have, simply start with that and your experience will evolve to include more traditional methods. The yoga asanas or poses are to prepare you for sitting for lengthy times in meditation but that’s for another post. I am simply getting you started on an enjoyable journey that hopefully lasts for a lifetime.
The Key!
Connect with the BREATH!
There it is again I hear you say? Well it truly is the key to begin with, keep it simple, don’t stress about the process and let it unfold as it should. So much in life really is simple don’t look at complicating things! Okay what do I mean by connecting with the breath, follow it, observe it, feel it passing through your nostrils down the back of your throat expanding your lungs. Simply follow the natural flow of the breath don’t try to change it at this stage. Once you feel comfortable with this then….
Observe your thoughts!
Simply bring your awareness to whats happening upstairs, is it a monkey jungle up there? If it is, relax as this process will sort that out over time. Remember the best things in life never come easy! It takes time! Be patient! Let go of what no longer serves you, send it on its way, dump it on a passing train or cloud what ever resonates with you. Keep what does serve you and simply put it aside for now. Bringing awareness to sorting and decreasing the monkey jungle is the ultimate key! Enjoy.
