Controlling The Mind’s Monkey!
What is that I hear you asking? Ever found your mind chattering away by its self?
Mindfulness or awareness of what is actually going on in your mind is the key. How do we do that and what are the benefits?
Meditation! Mindfulness! Awareness!
Practicing meditation comes in many forms to suit the individual or group and involves making a personal choice to turn your focus inward to a quite, inner space of stillness. Practicing this drawing inward develops your ability to control your monkey mind or chatter and guides you more effectively in a more productive direction.
This allows your self-awareness to grow so that you are more able to make choices in life that lead to inner happiness and peace of mind.
With a regular meditation practice, we become more present in the moment. Our ability to focus increases, we regain clarity of mind, good memory, calm nervous system and we experience increased self-love.
With this balance of well-being in the body all our systems are functioning normally and without disease.
We also then automatically create an environment around us that is harmonious to all.
We learn to see any situation for what it really is! Without all the past experiences, values, beliefs, behaviours and judgement interfering with a clear decision. It teaches us many things, most of all, we are able to respond with clarity and peace of mind. Rather than simply reacting in the moment to a situation and passing miss-judgement.
It helps us to pause in the moment with patience, compassion, gratitude and love for what is. Ultimately we see the truth in any given moment without preconceived judgement.
After all we are human beings, so simply be a human being in the moment with clarity of mind and love in the heart!
